He is identified as Barbara’s 7th great-grandfather in the Waters family branch. On 27 January 1767, Philemon Waters and his wife, Sarah, both of Prince William County, Virginia, sold 30 acres to William Tyler for 35 pounds current money of Virginia. The land was described as part of a larger tract that had been granted to Charles Cornwell and afterward passed to William Looe, Richard Wright, and then Philemon Waters.
The deed was witnessed by Abraham Farrow, William Calvert, John Calvert, Catherine X Smith, and John Waters. The original notes describe Catherine X Smith as the widow of “Philemon I”; the meaning of that identification is not otherwise established in the supplied material.
