Marie "Marthe" Paquet
4 MAY 1735 – ABT 1815Marie “Marthe” Paquet, Barbara’s fifth great-grandmother, was born 4 May 1735 in the Pascagoula River area of present-day Mississippi. A Catholic baptismal record from Fort Conde at Mobile identifies her parents as Pierre Paquet and Magdeleine Baudrau and records her baptism on 5 April 1736. Family-tree material associates her with New Orleans, Cat Island, and Pascagoula; it also says that she was raised by her uncle, Michel Paquet. She was married first to Michel Jacques Gargaret and later to Jacob Hingle. Her death is estimated as about 1815 at Pascagoula, Jackson County, Mississippi.
