1748 – 28 APR 1823Augustine E. Willard (1748–28 April 1823) is identified as the fourth great-grandfather in David’s family branch. A will dated 28 April 1823 names his wife, Fanne, and six children. Records attributed to him include an 1817 tax-list entry for 233 acres on Swisher Creek and an 1820 census entry.
An 1817 tax list records an Augustin Willard with 233 acres on Swisher Creek. Marriage-bond notes associate Augustine Willard with the marriage of Jonathon Willard and Keiah King on 29 December 1809, for which Augustine was bondsman. Other entries record the marriages of Sarah Willard to Edmond Swinny on 27 June 1807 and Allen Willard to Nancy Hutchins on 6 January 1816.
The 1820 census lists Augustine Willard on page 724. The household included two white males aged 16 to 26, one white male aged 45 or older, one white female aged 16 to 26, and one white female aged 45 or older.
A will of Augustian Willard dated 28 April 1823 names his wife, Fanne, and six children: Sally Swiney, Jonaton, Allen, Fanny Willard, William, and Polly Willard. His sons Jonathon and William were named executors. The witnesses were Joshua Harris, Bloom, and Catton. The supplied life dates give 28 April 1823 as Augustine E. Willard’s date of death.
